Intervista a Ivan Ferrandes sui luoghi di “Il Gattopardo”

Be Sicily Mag recently interviewed Ivan Ferrandes the location manager of the Netflix miniseries Il Gattopardo, to uncover the Sicilian locations that served as the backdrop for this new production.

The series, based on the novel of the same name by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, was filmed in several stunning locations across the island, including Palermo, Catania, and Syracuse. In particular, in Palermo, Palazzo Comitini was used to represent Villa Salina, while in Catania, Palazzo Biscari hosted the famous ballroom scene.

In Syracuse, filming took place in the magnificent Piazza Duomo, known for its historic buildings and Baroque churches.

In the interview, Ferrandes explains how these locations were carefully selected to best depict the atmosphere of mid-19th century Sicily, offering viewers an authentic journey into the island’s history and culture.
